Weekend at Jeresich Dock

Morning skies were  bright in Poulsbo on Thursday. (Thanks for pics, Jeanie!)

Friday morning we visited the other local bakery, Bigleaf Maple Bakery, just a block or so up Jensen Way. It differs a bit from the uber popular Sluys on the main drag. We purchased bagels, ham and Swiss croissants, and a loaf of sourdough. All so good!

Touch of Gray and Coorie Doon parted company later that morning, the Z's headed to their home berth at the DMM, and the Motts  to Gig Harbor to rendezvous with Stay Awhile.

We found space at Jeresich Dock, took a short walk, and cooked a dinner of leftover veggies, pasta, and the excellent fried garlic the Z's gave us. Oh, and the sourdough bread!

Friday evening a couple of small sailboats tucked into the dock. Saturday morning we noticed a few more come in, along with many people showing up in their sailing gear. We figured some kind of raced was scheduled and we spent a bit of time watching all of the preperations.

We went for a walk and saw the boats lined up in the harbor. The airhorn sounded, sails went up, and the boats began moving. Very. Slowly. No wind!

We walked to the harbor entrance and quickly noticed we were making better time than the boats.

We arrived at the harbor entrance park and watched for some time as the boats made their way through the channel. A few approaching power boats turned and hovered, rather than trying to navigate the cluster.

Fortunately, Steve and Tracey's timing was perfect, and all the sail boats were out of the way by the time they arrived.

Stay Awhile tucked in right across the dock.

As per usual, the four of us ordered our SoCal sandwiches from the General Store and made our way to 7 Seas for beers.
After a walk and then cocktails aboard S.A., we ordered takeout from Millville Pizza and had dinner on ToG. Mediocre at best. Maybe the pizzas didn't travel well. Or maybe they don't do margherita style very well. But the leftovers in a pan with fried eggs this morning was pretty tasty!

We'll head home this morning. Looking forward to spending time with kids and grandkids this week for Thanksgiving!
