Oysters!

ToG arrived in Roche Harbor Sunday. Clearing customs using CBP Roam was successful. (After a couple of hiccups. Connectivity was poor, and we had to redo the photo of Nick's passport because there was a glare.)

Not long after tying up, we hopped in the dinghy for a trip to Wescott Bay Shellfish. Beautiful setting and delicious food!
It was time for Drake to pick up his motorcycle and begin his journey back to Florida. We had a plan to motor back to Fisherman Bay but the tide was too low for us to enter the channel at the time we needed to be there. Instead, we headed back to Friday Harbor. The currents were super strong and against us, and the water was chunky through Speiden Channel. The going was slow at almost full throttle.

The wind was howling at the marina and it took Nick a second try to get the boat into our assigned slip. He did an excellent job...aborting maneuvers at just the right time and circling around for another go. Nice to have a couple of guys receive our lines.

We made it in time for Drake to hop on the ferry back to Lopez.

We will stay here for another night and then we've pretty much decided to begin heading south toward home. The weather is just not cooperating and we'd like to find some sun and warmer temperatures. Somewhere. (Nick is making reservations in Walla Walla wine country as I am typing.)

Today we will wash the salt water off the boat and hop on our bikes...weather permitting.

Drake was a great boat guest and we wish him safe travels on his continued adventures!
