Summer Cruise 2021 | The Sierra Leg | Days 1 & 2

ToG left the Foss yesterday for points north. We expect to be out for about 7 weeks. I call this part "The Sierra Leg" because our daughter...Sierra...has joined us for the first few weeks. We are thrilled to have her aboard! Her request is to visit islands accessible only by boat, so we have Cypress and Sucia on the itinerary.

The photo is Sierra last week with her completed trench (in the background) at an archeological dig in eastern Oregon. She was one of several volunteers working with U of O students and professional archeologists. Her finds include an arrowhead and two scraping tools...items determined to be between 500 and 2000 years old.

Our first stop is Blake Island, where the three of us took the usual hike around the island yesterday afternoon.

Next stop...Port of South Whidbey, Langley.
