Canada, here we come!

We've spent the past two nights in Friday Harbor...love this town!

We heard about the terrible fire a few weeks ago but seeing the devastation was disturbing. Spring Street is closed on that block and ferry traffic has been diverted. What a mess. 

We visited the Customs and Border Protection office and then purchased our user fee decal online. Glad we got that taken care of. This $30 annual fee was something we just recently learned about.

We watched an interesting visitor pull into the harbor. It was met by a port tender, then it turned around and left. Maybe trading pilots? Medical emergency? 

It rained steadily all day yesterday. A perfect day to have a beer and burger at San Juan Brewing. And to buy some goodies from Friday Harbor Chocolates.

This morning is flat calm, perfect for our trip to Port of Sydney.
