A Break in the Wind

Sitting at home on Monday, I thought the windows would blow in. With howling gusts and pouring rain, it was hard to get excited about being on the water, but Nick was tracking the weather closely and we planned to meet the Z's in Eagle Harbor on Tuesday.

Sure enough, we left the Foss that next morning on smooth water. The cruise north up Colvos Passage was calm and clear.

We arrived to find plenty of space at the public dock, with the Coorie Doon already tucked in. After a nice walk around town, some shopping and a trip to the grocery store, we enjoyed happy hour aboard ToG with yummy snacks from Jeanie and Steve, and Nick's homemade pico de gallo.

Wednesday morning we walked further northeast from the marina then we'd been before, to Hawley Cove Park. This heron was in the creek bed along the way:
The boats departed Bainbridge after our walk, going north through Agate Pass, headed for Poulsbo. Here is Corrie Doon under the Bainbridge bridge, and an eagle perched on one of the channel markers.

Beautiful, bright and clear cruising on calm water! (And chilly!)

We arrived in Poulsbo, took another long walk, enjoyed happy hour aboard Coorie Doon, then headed to the tapas restaurant for dinner. Everything was quite tasty!

We'll spend another night here in Poulsbo...and then, we'll see.
