Rolling (Blowing?) with the Weather

We typically anchor out in Eagle Harbor but with seasonal changes  come changes in boating behaviors. We arrived early and found plenty of room at the public dock (although it filled fast.)

We often see herons hanging out on the docks. Sometimes I am startled by one very near the boat...in the dark of evening or very early in the morning...like a sentinels.

At the public dock, City of Bainbridge, at night:

Same dock, the next morning:

Some other sights at that same dock include a full enclosure on a small inflatable:

A full electric boat we keep seeing (guy's name must be Phil, as the name is Electric Philosophy):

Safety and rescue training at WSF:

The cruise from Eagle Harbor to Langley Small Boat Harbor started out foggy...also dreary, chilly, and a bit bumpy.

We are always impressed by the landscaping in the small town of Langley on Whidbey Island. The entire place is thoughtfully planted and cared for. This Japanese creeper is spectacular right now!

For some reason, we've never ventured down the hill into Seawall Park, and had no idea it opens up in both directions at water's edge. The area in front of the Inn at Langley is open to the public, there are a couple of nice totems, and nice picnic areas:

ToG at Langley breakwater:

We arrived in La Conner yesterday, with plans to motor across Rosario Straight and into Friday Harbor today. Not to be. Winds predicted for tomorrow arrived early, so we're hanging out at the AT dock until...well...until we can leave without 25 to 30 knot winds!
