Quick Gig Harbor Getaway

ToG left the Foss yesterday afternoon after we turned our young charges over to their daddy. Since we have just the weekend, we made the quick trip to Gig Harbor. The evening sky was spectacular!

Not much on the agenda except getting in a couple of good walks...and relaxing. Steve and Tracey will join us today...maybe we'll do lunch at 7 Seas...

Speaking of 7 Seas, last time we were there, the four of us watched a big (60 feet?) boat drag anchor. We weren't the only people noticing...a guy sitting near us said the boat had moved a good 200 yards since he'd been there.

And it kept moving...fortunately, missing other boats as it made its way further into the harbor. We ended up dinghying by it...still moving. No one was aboard and we did notice others trying to hail the skipper.

After we returned to our boats, I kept an eye out. I finally saw the boat motoring further in and reanchoring. I think, perhaps, that someone else had boarded her and the owners finally returned to their boat to find it being "rescued." Not sure, but their tender seemed to return after the boat was moved. We do know that the Coast Guard had been notified, and I did see a TowBoat in the vicinity.

Regardless of what happened, it was interesting to watch unfold, and we were sure glad no boats were hit along its journey...and that they anchored away from us!

The boat's name? Steadfast.

A quick word about our last few weeks: Babysitting has been a joy...and exhausting.

Little Ren is just about 6 months old and is a cute, lively bundle of energy. You know that age before they get mobile, when all they want is to be mobile?

Mac just turned two...that age when one minute he is eager to please and adorable...and the next minute he's downright obstinate and yelling, "No, no, no, no, no!" And still adorable!
