Last of Season Hurrah?

We spent today at the McQuarrie family cabin smoking the 9 or so pink salmon Nick, Caleb, and Steve Z. caught over the past week since arriving home. Many of these were caught right in the Foss Waterway!

Last weekend, we watched both grandsons (Mac - almost two, and Ren almost 5 months) and lived to tell the tale! Great fun, really. (And tiring!)

I mention the grandsons because our late summer/fall boating plans have changed. We intended to be out the month of September...either in B.C. waters or closer to home. But with the Delta variant raging and the increased risk for children, we decided to watch the boys instead of putting them in daycare. They were due to start childcare (a return for Mac; a first for Ren) on September 7th when our daughter-in-law returns to work. We have the time to help delay that a bit...so that's what we're doing. Personally, and I think Nick agrees, I am so looking forward to the opportunity to get to know Ren like we did his big bro.

So. Tomorrow we are heading to Bell Harbor to rendezvous with Steve and Tracey on Stay Awhile and go to a Mariners game! Then we'll head to Port Orchard...a first time visit to that marina...and meet Jeanie and Steve on Coorie Doon. We'll be out until September 5th...destinations unknown.
