Summer Cruise 2021 | The Sierra Leg | Days 9 & 10

Forgot to include this photo of the unique bottle opener Sierra purchased at the taproom in Lopez Village. The gentleman helping us told us his brother makes them...as he calmly went about serving us beers, while waiting for the medivac chopper to land in the field next door...to take his wife to the hospital. Lots of activity for Lopez!

So far Sierra has found two treasures using the fishing magnet...both off the docks at Islands Marine Center in Fisherman Bay: some kind of washer and a nail with wood.

She spent Monday (after breakfast with us at Holly B's) biking around the island, visiting favorite spots and lunching at the Southend Market.

Nick and I continued walking after that bakery breakfast, first to Upright Channel to hunt for agates/sea glass/shells, and then out to the main road past the winery and back to the Village. Took a couple of hours and was totally worth it. Every time we turned around there was another gorgeous and spectacular Lopez Island view!

A funny thing has happened twice since we set out on this trip. Two neighboring boats, without speaking to us first, began playing Touch of Grey on their sound systems, and then came out to tell us, "This is a test!" The two guys in Langley then said, "We want to make sure you know what you named your boat after!" The guy at IMC said, "I want to make sure I know what you named your boat after!" Very entertaining.

The guy at IMC mentioned above, and his wife, are on this old English fire boat, the Sarah Elizabeth Banks.
Very interesting boat and looks like a lot of fun. He has upgraded and changed it quite a bit, including the addition of the "sun room" on top. The entire blue stripe around the cabin is filled with technical drawings and writing.

After a pump out Tuesday morning, we headed to Deer Harbor, Orcas Island. We have a reservation for tonight, but anchored last night.

We are tracking the delivery of the new Coorie Doon...always fun to live vicariously via other people's new boat experiences! She splashed earlier this week and Jeanie and Steve are doing orientation now.
