Langley Boat Harbor

Okay, that was interesting. When the tide rose yesterday evening and the grounded sailboat was afloat, a vessel assist boat showed up to pull it off the beach. It was fun to watch. They looked like they knew what they were doing...until their dinghy floated away...

The assist vessel got the sailboat out to sea, turned it loose, retrieved the dinghy, recaptured the sailboat, and began towing it to Seattle.

The park staffer I spoke with said a park mooring buoy broke loose! He basically stated that wear and tear occurs, they don't know when it's going to happen, and they were glad the boat was old and needs a lot of work. Geez.

Pulled into Langley today around 1pm. Really nice experience, with help from the Harbormaster. Had a nice conversation with him about the fact that they adamantly do not allow rafting except under very specific circumstances.

Took a walk through town, watched some whales go by...you know...the usual...

Watched this pair of pigeon guillemots from the pier. Can't usually get this close to them.
