Taking Delivery of Our Boat!

Upgrades and associated tasks are nearly complete and Touch of Gray will be ready to leave La Conner this weekend. She’s been fully detailed, the electronics will be updated and checked out today, and the engine has been certified by Volvo. Importantly, the new shaft, coupler, and engine mounts are all to current spec. ToG performed well in yesterday’s sea trial.

I think the new upholstery looks quite elegant!

We’ll hitch a ride tomorrow (Saturday) morning with Jeff (AT), along with more of the stuff we need for a short cruise. (Including a memory foam mattress topper – fingers crossed!) Jeff will spend time with us that day, orienting us to systems, basic operations, getting underway, and docking. We will take off Sunday morning, headed for Edmonds (probably) for one overnight before landing in Tacoma on Monday.

At this point, the weather looks to be good, so our plan should hold.

We’ve started caring for our little grandson, Malcolm, as the birth date of baby brother approaches. (Officially due April 6 – but Mac was about three weeks early.) Another reason to get this boat home and tucked in – we need to be here for the event! (To baby brother from Grandma, “You may not be born this weekend.”)

Mac is ready...for something!

As my oldest sister said in her recent birthday card to me, “A new grandbaby! A new boat! A great year to be 60!”
